It not only looks the nuts, but it goes like stink, handles, and feels super nice inside. Is this Lamborghini hued Mk4 masterpiece the ultimate Dub ever? Words : James Wallace | Pics: Global Tuning Connection The Mk4 Golf market is flooded with amazing modified efforts, but if there’s one thing likely to get the forum dwellers tap, tap, tapping away frantically on their keyboards it’s an abundance of either shine or grime. It’s a real shame that the diversity of the VW world comes in for lots of either envy or downright hatred nowadays. Whether it’s jealously or simply a lack of imagination that prompts this response is really anyone’s guess, but my granddad always said to me that, “if you ain’t got nothing positive to say, don’t bother saying it.” Nevertheless creating one of Europe’s, nay the World’s, finest Mk4 Golfs is no mean feat. Not becoming overly obsessed with the corrupting force that is the interweb probably helps. A clear vision, slightly bonkers ideas and bags of enthusiasm definitely come in handy. Who’d have thought that 12 years ago when we featured a Black Golf Rallye belonging to a fresh faced Janet Edwardson, who’s no stranger to Germany’s finest motors, that we’d be revisiting the fruits of her labour in a new decade altogether? Supercar solution “We bought it from the guy who painted it originally, Greg Howell, as a show winner, but knew all along that we’d have to stamp our identity on it somehow,” recalled Janet. Having parted with around £16k for the car back in November 2008, many already considered it to be the ultimate Mk4 with a trophy cabinet that was bulging with success.
