This issue’s taken on a bit of a Yankie theme with a very nice Mk4 sporting a bored out R32 engine from Colorado kicking off proceedings on pages 44-49 followed by a somewhat more down to earth US inspired Mk1 from, ahem, Sheffield. Owner Jack Oliver fell in love with everything Stateside following a visit to Florida and started collecting stuff Magpie like to go on his humble UK supplied 1983 1.1 to give it a US slant. The result is an ultra cool scene car that cost buttons to build. And what’s under the bonnet? None other than a torquey fuel-sipping 1.6 oil burning lump from a Mk2 GTD. Truly inspirational. Inters was brilliant this year, and if you missed it you can catch the highlights in Jimbo’s report on pages 22-27. And if that isn’t enough to get your juices flowing – turn to our Wörthersee gallery on pages 30-34, or our DC11 report in the mega Dub Clubbing section, starting on page 90.
