It’s nice to see cars evolve. One owner puts their spin on things, then subsequent custodians take everything a step further. And that’s why I’ve loved watching the evolution of Janet Edwardson’s Mk4. Ok, plenty of money’s been spent – but there’s a helluva lot more to creating a nice car than a healthy bank account. Janet’s shown focus, creativity and courage to gradually morph what was already an ultra smooth Mk4 when Greg Howell owned it, to what’s now probably the ultimate dub on the planet. True or not, we’ll let you decide once you’ve read the story and seen the pics on pages 44-50. Elsewhere there’s other stories of gritty determination to create something different. Craig McKenzie embarked on a front end facelift of his 2004 Audi A3 only to find the 2010 bonnet, wings and grille were totally different. However, instead of hitting the bottle or binning the lot, he painstakingly engineered everything to fit. Working nightshifts, he did all of the work on his parents drive during the day, freezing his nuts off in the process during one of the coldest winters for decades. Read his tale of endevour on pages 68-74. Hope you enjoy the issue.
